Purple Star

Ravensworth is recognized as a Purple Star for our commitment to supporting military connected families. We provide support for students as they arrive and depart our school. Our students participate in bi-monthly Military Connected Youth Morning Meetings as a way to meet with other military connected students.

Family Community

At Ravensworth Elementary School, we value our partnership with families! Our engaged PTA hosts numerous events throughout the year including Run 4 Ravensworth, Family Movie Night, Trunk or Treat, Book Fair, Chess Club, and Run Fit Kids. We also hold Family Academy sessions as an opportunity for families to learn about current educational practices, as well as Curriculum Nights throughout the school year, including Family Math Night, Literacy Glow Night, and STEAM Night.

A Tradition of Excellence

Ravensworth Elementary School has been located for over 60 years in the Ravensworth Farms area of Fairfax County.

Modern and Outdoor Learning Spaces

Developing Student Leaders

We believe in the importance of building our students’ leadership skills! Students at Ravensworth have the opportunity to demonstrate leadership and student voice through Student Council Association, Safety Patrols, Morning News Show, and Get2Green Team.

Strong Volunteer Culture

We love our family volunteers! You are always welcome to set up a time with your child's teacher to volunteer in the classroom, read a book to the class, or come in to have a birthday lunch with your child. We can’t wait to see you!

Personalized EducationStudents building in STEAM

At Ravensworth Elementary School, there’s no “one size fits all” approach to education! Students get access to social-emotional learning using Responsive Classroom, Kimochi, and Zones of Regulation. They also learn from experts in their field and hands-on instruction through our author visits, artist in residence, and STEAM instruction.

Diverse Activities

Ravensworth Elementary School provides many unique programs and activities so that our students can explore their passions and find new interests. This includes our 5th and 6th grade chorus, Math Olympiad, STEAM activities, student-produced morning news show (WRAV), 5th and 6th grade Exploration Hour, Virginia Readers, and more!
