Erika Aspuria, who recently served as assistant principal at Lynbrook Elementary, has been named principal of Ravensworth Elementary, effective August 14. She previously served as an assistant principal at Little Run Elementary where she created and implemented Little Run’s Building Leadership Team for age-appropriate, building-wide instructional enrichment activities. Aspuria began her career with FCPS as an English for speakers of other languages teacher at Forestdale Elementary where she taught for eight years and assumed administrative duties as the lead teacher of the SOL afterschool remediation program. In addition, she taught first grade at Beech Tree Elementary. Aspuria earned her bachelor of arts in elementary education at Lenoir-Rhyne University, her masters of arts in teaching English as a second language at the University of North Carolina Charlotte, and the education specialist in educational leadership and policy studies at Virginia Tech. She holds certifications in Administration and Supervision K-12, Elementary Education K-6, and Teaching English as a Second Language K-12.
